Here Comes the Sun

Here Comes the Sun

and it will stay for a while because it’s the Summer Solstice!

It’s the first day of summer (the Summer Solstice) and one of our favorite days to celebrate here at RGS Energy! Why? It’s the longest day of the year with the most sunshine.

The word solstice comes from solstitium – sol (sun) + stitium (to stop). It certainly feels like the sun stops.  In fact, some states will experience around 15 hours of sunlight during the solstice! For those with a solar power system, the longest day of the year means more solar energy production and savings for your home or business. With more peak sun hours per day, the sunny summer months offer the most power production across the nation. A peak sun-hour is defined as an hour of sun that offers 1,000 watts of solar power per square meter. You can bet that many solar system owners will get more than the average 4 hours of peak sunlight today!

Don’t get solar FOMO

We encourage everyone to have a solar power system installed before the summer is over, so you don’t experience what we call solar FOMO, also known as the fear of missing out.

What is solar FOMO? It’s the fear of missing out on incredible solar savings during the summer because you haven’t switched to renewable solar energy. Don’t let solar FOMO affect you! We have the most cost-effective solar solution whether you’re interested in solar panels or solar shingles.
