Rethink Your Roof™
Your roof can do more for you.
When you think about solar energy, you likely picture traditionally mounted solar panel systems like ground-mount or rooftop mounted systems. But, do you know about roof-integrated solar systems? These are more commonly known as solar roofs, solar shingles, solar tiles, or building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV)
We’re excited to offer our new revolutionary roofing product that combines the performance and protection of a conventional asphalt roof with an integrated solar system that powers the home! Our POWERHOUSE™ 3.0 solar shingles are based on technology developed by The Dow Chemical Company. We are currently working to obtain UL Certification and anticipate obtaining approval this summer making it available for installation.
What are the POWERHOUSE™ pros and who would benefit?
The solar shingles are installed directly on to the roof deck along with standard asphalt roofing shingles. The roof-integrated design gives the home a visually stunning appearance and the shingles look like they actually belong on the home! You can see for yourself, check out our gallery.
Monthly Electrical Bill Savings
Just like traditional solar panels, solar shingles convert energy from the sun into power for your home. Depending on roof size, orientation, and coverage, your solar shingle roof will provide savings on your electrical bills every month! Every kWh of energy created is one you don’t have to buy from your power company.
An asphalt roof with POWERHOUSE™ Solar Shingles can be thousands of dollars less expensive than other integrated solar products installed with high cost tile or concrete roofing materials. When combined with local incentives and the federal tax credit, POWERHOUSE™ Solar Shingles are an affordable option for homeowners as a total roofing solution!
